Seven Generations Ahead

Community Energy, in partnership with Commonwealth Edison, Eurus Energy, Midwest Wind Energy, LLC, and turbine manufacturer Vestas, has Co-developed the 54.5 MW Crescent Ridge Wind Farm in Illinois that began producing electricity in the spring 2005. Located 90 miles southwest of Chicago, the Crescent Ridge Wind Farm is situated on approximately 2,200 acres of land and will be producing up to 170 million kilowatt-hours per year of clean electrical power, enough to supply the electrical needs of approximately 20,000 average households . Crescent Ridge is one of the best wind sites in Illinois with an average wind speed of 16.7 mph. The pollution offsets will be equivalent to taking 10,000 cars off the road each year or planting over 10 million trees. This project will generate enough electricity to power approximately 20,000 Illinois homes!

Please RSVP to act@sevengenerationsahead.org or 708 660-9909 if coming from Chicago or the Oak Park area, or to Community Energy if you plan to leave from Naperville. Carpooling will be organized from both locations or you may arrange your own transportation. Hope you can join us!
