The Green Earth Institute’s Green Earth Fair
The Green Earth Fair will take place at the farm on Sunday, May 6, 2007 between 1 and 5 P.M. The Green Earth Fair includes:
- Guided tours of the organic vegetable fields and greenhouse.
- Expert presentations about organic home gardening, organic lawn care, natural landscaping, home composting, nutrition, solar energy, and beekeeping.
- Kids activities in the Children's Garden area--exploring for earthworms and planting seeds in small pots to take home with them.
- Demonstrations of vermiculture (worm composting).
- Food demonstrations by the Organic Food Network.
- Conservation@Home program information from The Conservation Foundation.
- Many other exhibits.
- Organic vegetable seedlings and native prairie plants available for purchase.
Directions
To reach the farm from Washington Street, turn west at Ring Road (traffic signal at approx. 93rd St.) and take an immediate left turn on Knoch Knolls Road; proceed about three blocks and you will see the farm on the right/northwest side of the road. The sign at the driveway says McDonald Farm/Home of the Green Earth Institute.

From distances east or west, take I-88 (Reagan Tollway)
Exit at Naperville Rd. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right (south) on Naperville Rd., which becomes Naper Blvd. Go 4 miles to 75th St. and turn right (west). Go 1 mile to Washington St. and turn left (south). Go 1.8 miles to Ring Rd. and turn right (west). Take an immediate left turn on Knoch Knolls Rd. and go about 3 blocks; you will see the farm on the right. The sign at the driveway says McDonald Farm/Home of the Green Earth Institute.
From distances north or south, take I-355 (North-South Tollway)
Exit at 75th St. Proceed west for 5 miles to Washington St. and turn left (south). Go 1.8 miles to Ring Rd. and turn right (west). Take an immediate left turn on Knoch Knolls Rd. and go about 3 blocks; you will see the farm on the right. The sign at the driveway says McDonald Farm/Home of the Green Earth Institute.
From Route 59 in Naperville/Aurora
Turn east on 95th St. and after 2 miles the road angles toward the right. Soon after it angles, take the left turn onto Knoch Knolls Rd. (there’s no stoplight or stop sign, but there is a small green arrow sign on a light pole on the right side of the street). Proceed for 1.5 miles and you will see the farm on the left. The sign at the driveway says McDonald Farm/Home of the Green Earth Institute.
