Oak Park Public Works Facility LEEDing the Way

December culminated in the groundbreaking of the new Village of Oak Park Public Works facility, which through the leadership initiative of Seven Generations Ahead and the Village, will be the State of Illinois' first municipal public works facility to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certification.

The $30 million project will likely become a model for future ecologically effective projects in Oak Park and the region.

SGA Executive Director Gary Cuneen joined Village President David Pope, Trustees Greg Marsey, Ray Johnson, Marth Brock, and Elizabeth Brady, State Senator Don Harmon, Village Manager Carl Swenson, Village Clerk Sandra Sokol, and Bob Romo from the IL Clean Energy Community Foundation at the historic groundbreaking ceremony.
