Fresh from the Farm Educator Training
SGA’s Fresh from the Farm program has been formally evaluated over its 6-year implementation history, and has been featured nationally as a leading educational program. From top-level USDA and Chicago Public School officials to classroom teachers, parents, and students, SGA’s Fresh from the Farm curriculum and program continue to draw high praise. In an effort to disseminate Fresh from the Farm more broadly throughout Chicago area and Midwest school districts, SGA is offering Spring and Fall teacher and educator trainings. Trainings include the following features:
– CPDU credits for classroom teachers
– In-class observation of curriculum implementation
– Complete Fresh from the Farm curriculum, program packet, and resources
– Field-based training at local organic farms and school-based garden sites
– Education from leading edge medical doctors, nutritionists, food experts, and chefs
– Follow-up consultation and support
