The Midwest's Largest Zero Waste Craft Beer Festival.
Co-produced by Seven Generations Ahead and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild and in collaboration with the Downtown Oak Park Association, the Oak Park Micro Brew Review will feature tastings of over 100 craft beers from more than 50 microbreweries across the Midwest. But this is not just your average beer festival; proceeds from the event help fund SGA’s non-profit work to build healthy, environmentally sustainable communities in the Midwest. So along with celebrating the microbrews of the most skilled craft brew masters in the region, attendees can also celebrate sustainable living while sampling select food tastings that incorporate organic food from local farmers. And to make sure minimal event waste is sent to the landfill, this festival models Zero Waste best practices.
Micro Brew. Micro Waste.
Date: Saturday, August 18, 2012
Time: 3pm – 7pm
Location: Marion Street in downtown Oak Park
BONUS: This is the only craft beer event featuring the Illinois Craft Brewer's Guild "Replicale" project. This exciting annual project features a different beer style each year brewed by 15 or more Illinois brewers to showcase the nuances in brewing technique and system design. This year's style will be announced shortly.
NEW THIS YEAR:
--Space has been added to the festival layout (again) to accommodate growing crowds
--Check-in for main event will open at 2pm (one hour early) to ease crowd flow at start of event.
--Food vendors will also start serving at 2pm...so arrive early, get yourself fed and watered and visit local shops before the taps pour!
Transportation: Public transportation to this event is not only encouraged, but conveniently located. Try the Harlem/Lake stop on the CTA Green Line (use the east exit when you arrive) or the Metra Oak Park stop and you'll arrive/depart right from the middle of the event!
Join the After Party held at Marion Street Cheese Market on the southern end of the fest. Specialty foods and brews will be on tap and available for purchase.
Event Ticket Prices:
Tickets will go on sale on or before May 4, 2012. After that, don't delay...this event has sold out the last three years!
