Mark Ledogar, President
Mark is a founding member of the SGA Board of Directors and currently serves as President, a position he has held for the last three years. Mark is Vice President of One Smooth Stone, an event production company based in Downers Grove, IL. In this position, Mark serves as executive producer of a wide range of live events and provides strategic messaging, creative direction, project management and team leadership for the clients he serves. Prior to joining One Smooth Stone, Mark was Director of the Convention and Tradeshow Division at SmithBucklin, the world’s largest association management firm. Mark is a graduate of Northwestern University and has proudly continued his affiliation with the University through his service with the Northwestern Alumni Association where he currently serves as Vice President.
Tim Dull, Secretary
Tim is a Civil and Environmental Engineer with URS Corp specializing in remedial investigation, remedial design, long-term strategic planning for environmentally-impacted property, and wastewater system design and evaluation. Tim has an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University. Tim serves as a liaison between the Chicago Chapter and the Valparaiso University Chapter of Engineers without Borders.
Neal Armstrong, Treasurer
Neal is a Director at RREEF, a real estate investment management firm, where he is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for several real estate investment funds. Prior to joining RREEF, he was a senior manager in KPMG LLP’s audit practice with a focus on real estate and non-for-profits. Neal is a CPA and received a B.S. in accounting from Valparaiso University. He serves as treasurer at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest. Neal and his wife, Esther, have two children and live in Oak Park.
Phoebe Bower
Phoebe is an attorney with the intellectual property law firm of Banner & Witcoff, Ltd., where she assists clients in all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, licensing, litigation and trade secrets. Prior to practicing law, she worked as a network engineer for a large telecommunications provider. Phoebe received a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and earned her law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Irvin Cernauskas
After many years working as an IT consultant, Irv and his wife Shelly decided to live their values by launching Irv and Shelly’s Fresh Picks, a company founded to create new market opportunities for local organic farms and to offer new ways for consumers to access these products. Irv has an M.S. in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management, and an M.A. and B. A. in Economics from the University of Toronto. Irv also serves on the board of The Land Connection.
Tom Hollinden
Tom is the Chair of SGA’s Fundraising Committee and leads the organization in achieving its fundraising goals. Tom works as an Associate with Jones Lang LaSalle, a global financial and professional services firm that specializes in commercial real estate services and investment management. His company has a strong focus on sustainability services and was recently awarded the work to manage the redevelopment of the Empire State Building into a more sustainable structure. A graduate of Indiana University, Tom has over 7 years of commercial real estate experience and has a passion for SGA's initiatives.
Warren King
Warren and his wife Kate are principals of WellSpring Management, a company that promotes the stewardship of natural resources by providing consulting services and products to communities, government, not-for-profits and businesses. Warren has twenty five years experience in agri-business that includes strategic planning, international business development, market analysis and sales. Warren’s passion for the land is rooted in his northern California upbringing and his work on the farm as a young man. He possesses an MBA in Marketing from DePaul University and is a graduate of UC-Davis with a degree in International Relations. Warren also services on the boards of Kidz Express and Sustain USA. In 2000 he was honored with the Illinois Alumni Recognition Award for his volunteer work and fund raising achievements for local 4-H.
Gary Cuneen, Founding Executive Director
Gary Cuneen is the Founder and Executive Director of Seven Generations Ahead. Gary designs and manages SGA’s programming, and consults directly with area municipal, business, and community decision-makers to facilitate comprehensive multi-stakeholder sustainability planning and implementation of best practices. Gary is the co-founder of Green Town: The Future of Community, a conference targeting municipal and private sector leaders from the Chicago area and Midwest to learn about sustainable best practices, planning processes, and measurement tools. Since founding Seven Generations Ahead, Gary has received the Natural Home Magazine “Earth Mover” Award in 2007; the William Fitzsimmons Award for Public Health in 2008; and the Chicago Tribune “Good Eating” Award in 2008.
